Security Guard
I am Tebogo Modupe, originally from Seabe near Hammanskraal. In 2022, while searching for work, I became homeless and spent two years living on the streets of Church Square, surviving on handouts and facing daily hardships. In early 2024, I moved into a shelter, which, despite its challenges, gave me safety and stability. My life began to change when I joined the security team at Pretoria City Mission Methodist Church, where I met Rev Diutlwileng, founder of New Lease of Life Foundation. Through the Foundation’s support, I received accommodation, steady work, and access to food, restoring my dignity and stability. I also experienced spiritual renewal through weekly Bible studies. Today, I am still employed, supporting my two children, and preparing to celebrate my daughters’ birthdays for the first time in two years, filled with renewed hope and purpose.
